The Law of Compensation, according to the book The Go-Giver,goes something like this… Your compensation is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.
Our friend Joe puts it another way. The first law is about how much you could earn while the second law is how much you really do earn.
In The Go-Giver, the law of compensation isn’t just about value. It’s also about impact.
Serving a person may be very valuable. Serving 1,000 people would be more valuable.
What I really like about the book during the discussion of this “law” is that there are three ideas that really opened my mind.
First, anyone can be successful because anyone can serve.
Second, there’s no limit on income because I can always find more people to serve.
And, third, we can decide to change our limiting beliefs. The way it is explained in the book is that we can write a new story “the rest is just how it plays out.”
